Parent-Child
|
Our Parent-Child program includes our very popular Time for Two class (2 year-old and parent/guardian) as well as several Kindermusik classes. Kindermusik is a developmentally appropriate music and movement program for children ages newborn through seven. Every Kindermusik class requires, for an additional fee, a set of 'At Home Materials' that includes a book, CD, age-appropriate instrument, and activity book or journal. Click here for the Kindermusik website and more detailed information on these programs.

Class Descriptions (classes are 45 minutes long and meet once a week)

Time for Two - Age 2 with parent This creative movement class is designed exclusively for two-year olds and a parent/guardian. Songs, tumbling, games, and playful dances are incorporated into every class. Music, story telling, poetry, pantomime, and dance are used to encourage the children to express themselves creatively. Please note that "Time for Two" has two meanings: It is a class for two-year-olds, but is also for two participants – the child, plus one parent or guardian.

Kindermusik Village – Newborns to 18 months Learn how to stimulate your child's learning through vocal play, object exploration and creative movement. We will provide you with more tools to continue the enrichment at home through bonding with your baby by reading the Baby's Literature Book or listening to the CD - just two of the resources included in the At Home Materials.
|
Kindermusik Our Time – 18 months to three years This class introduces your child to a musical world filled with singing, imitating sounds, rhyming, sound identification, instrument exploration, and creative movement. With your help your toddler can continue learning at home by working in her activity book, listening to her CD, or playing with the other items included in the At Home Materials – all designed to help your child improve confidence, self control, and communication skills.

Kindermusik Sign & Sing - Age six months to three years Through songs, toys and loving playtime between you and your child, Sign & Sing shows you more than 50 signs your child can use to communicate with you. Using research-proven methods shown to speed language development in hearing children, you will see how sign language can ease frustration and enhance long-term learning abilities for your child. Sign & Sing is more than a weekly class. The 'At Home Materials' help you to continue this one-of-a-kind experience at home. The At Home Materials include a family activity guide, a DVD glossary showing 60 signs, and clip-on flash cards that feature photos of both children and adults using family-friendly American Sign Language signs.
